Polar Plunge

The Special Olympics DC Polar Plunge provides a fun, festive atmosphere with music, refreshments and parades of plungers in costume for all to enjoy. Pools are erected at Nationals Park, ready for all to take the plunge!

Participants are encouraged to register as either individuals or join or create a team of family, friends or colleagues to inspire friendly competition and show your collective support for the athletes of Special Olympics DC!

All participants will receive a free t-shirt and have a personalized fundraising page to help encourage support in the weeks leading up to the event.  To join in the fun, participants must raise at least $100.  Age 12 and up can plunge, under 18 with parent or guardian’s permission.

Night of Trees Gala

On Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, we will celebrate our 33rd Annual Night of Trees Auction Gala, a holiday tradition that supports the life-changing programs that mean so much to so many. This signature event raises one-third of the annual funding needed to deliver programs that reach some of this community’s most deserving and often under-served citizens.

From 6pm to midnight, enjoy a champagne reception, drinks/dinner/dessert, silent auction, SODC program, live auction, live band and dancing!

Featuring Tony Reali from ESPN’s “Around the Horn” as emcee!
