Special Olympics DC Athletes from Coolidge High School and River Terrace Educational Campus made an impact at the Penn Relays by showcasing their exceptional talents this April!
The event was a testament to the power of inclusion and sportsmanship. The two teams brought home first place and third place in the 4×100 relay races. The Unified Relay team, which embraces the spirit of unity by including athletes with and without intellectual disabilities, achieved an incredible feat by securing first place. This victory highlights the importance of teamwork and inclusion in sports.
Meanwhile, our Traditional Relay team, composed entirely of athletes with intellectual disabilities, delivered an admirable performance, earning a commendable third place. These achievements show the dedication and training of our athletes from both programs!
